This is a treatment that will be incorporated with a combination of other treatments from Massage to Dry Needling depending on the body’s need.
What is Tok Sen?
Tok Sen is a unique healing modality that originated in the Lanna region of Thailand around Chiang Mai in the North. It is thought to date back 5000 years ago as Acupuncture developed in China.
The practice uses a variety of wooden tools made from the Tamarind tree and a tapping method along the sen lines of the body. It sends mechanical and sound vibrations deep into the fascia, tendons and muscles to clear blocked energy from the channels.
Tok means “to clear”
Sen denotes the Sen lines
What are the benefits of Tok Sen?
Tok Sen is a holistic treatment and can have a wide range of benefits. Just a few benefits of this ancient method of treatment are:
Increased blood circulation: Better circulation nourishes muscles and tendons and releases blockages more quickly. The vibrations on the tendons when done correctly loosen both the tendons and the muscles.
Relief from stiff tight muscles: Tight muscles will squeeze capillaries, which decreases blood circulation to muscles and causes muscle soreness. Hammering on the sen lines assist in relieving pain and discomfort.
Improvements of nerve functions: The nerves run parallel with capillaries. Every time we hammer, the vibration will nourish capillaries and peripheral nerves which in turn stimulate the wellness of the muscles.
Many other ailments can be relieved using this ancient method of healing. Troubles pertaining to the organs can also be relieved be clearing the blockages of the sen lines. For this reason the abdominal region is treated first and with care. One of the primary focal points in Tok Sen – as in many eastern medical practices – is the area around the navel. This area is crucial because of its relationship with the internal organs and energy channels throughout the body.
